Ruabon Community Jubilee Festival

Ruabon Community Council, in collaboration with The Friends of Ruabon, is holding an event on Saturday 4th June to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The 'Ruabon Community Jubilee Festival' will be the first opportunity for our residents to come together in this way since the Covid-19 pandemic.

With community spirit at the heart of our vision for the day we plan to have an inclusive programme of events, with most of the activity taking place on our recreational ground in the centre of the village. There will be numerous stalls with produce, and representations from local community groups. We will encourage people to bring along picnics as part of 'The Big Jubilee Lunch'; we hope that this will facilitate an atmosphere like a traditional street party.

The event will be open to all members of the community to attend and we are keen to recognise the importance of bringing fun and positivity to our locality after a particularly challenging couple of years. Beginning the day with a parade through the village, with children dressed in Royal attire, we plan to have family friendly entertainment, bouncy castle and other activities for all to enjoy.

We will also be utilising the Friends of Ruabon Heritage trail to create a treasure hunt around the village on Sunday 5th June.
