Exciting New Chapter for Ruabon: Multi Use Games Area Installation Set to Begin
Community spirit and partnership bring major investment in local sports and recreation
Ruabon is set to receive a fantastic boost as the Community Council, working closely with the Welsh Government's Shared Prosperity Fund and Wrexham County Borough Council, proudly announces the imminent installation of a brand-new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA). Work on this much-anticipated facility is scheduled to begin on 10 November 2025, marking a significant milestone for the village.
This transformative project has been made possible thanks to a generous grant of £47,025.00 from the Shared Prosperity Fund, alongside additional match funding from the Community Council, bringing the total investment to an impressive £56,394.00. It is a clear testament to the Council’s commitment to enhancing amenities and fostering community wellbeing.
For some time, Ruabon has been without a state-of-the-art MUGA, but this latest development promises to breathe new life into the area. Once complete, the facility will provide a much-needed recreational space for people of all ages, encouraging healthy activity, social interaction, and a sense of pride across the village.
The Community Council is eager to ensure everyone’s safety during the works and kindly asks that children are kept away from the site while construction is underway. In the coming weeks, the area will be securely fenced off as the old MUGA is removed, paving the way for what is sure to be an exciting new chapter for Ruabon.
The arrival of the new MUGA is more than just an investment in sports infrastructure—it’s an investment in the future of the community, offering opportunities for enjoyment, exercise, and togetherness for years to come.
